This weeks news...

This week we'll start with Andre Ware and the Berlin Thunder 'vs' Dameyune Craig and the Scottish Caymores. The Claymore's smashed the Thunder 48 - 14, but since this is Raiders in Europe, we'll focus more on individual players. In this game there were two current and one past Raider. Andre Ware and Marcus Hinton for Berlin and Shatony Sargent for the Scott's.

Shatony Sargent spent his day hanging out in the Thunders backfield. He had quite a day chasing Andre and company around. Marcus Hinton blocked well, and was key in catching half of Berlin's touchdowns.

On to Ware ... On 1st and ten, Ware starting for Berlin, Ware tossed the ball for a catch and run resulting in a nine yard gain. He then proceeded to throw a nine yard pass for the 1st down. Shatony Sargent decided it was time to stop the drive and he succeeded. Jesse Haynes caught the Claymore's first touchdown pass. A catch and run for 86 yards putting Berlin down by seven. Ware and company tried to run the ball with no success resulting in a punting situation. Berlin's punter Price saved a huge loss when he received a bad snap and proceeded to elude the rush an complete a pass down the field. There was a penalty, the entire offensive line down the field, but he saved a big loss. Price punted and the Claymore's scored again. Yep, Jesse Haynes. On Berlin's next successful drive, Ware scrambled from Sargent again. This time launching a nine yard completion out of the clutches of Sargent ... first down! Andre Ware then proceeded with a brilliant pump fake and a 51 yard bomb to his wide receiver Taylor. Ware, with a great 6 yard dart to Rogers, fooled everyone resulting in Berlin's first touchdown. This is where the ever so smart coach decided to pull Andre for the interception happy Clemens (allocated from Denver). You know, everyone needs equal playing time right?

The Claymores scored again after a 63 yard return by Yo Murphy. They scored again after recovering a fumble on the kickoff on a 9 yard pass to ... Yo Murphy. 35 points in the first half is a NFL Europe record.

Marcus Hinton and Andre Rone combined for three first down catches to put the Thunder in place to score. Ooops, Clemens threw the ball to the wrong team, 35-7 half time.

Second half -
Yo Murphy received the kickoff and ... faked a reverse ... ran for 44 yards ... didn't I just see this in the first half? Well, the Claymores were held to three points on this drive.

Ware returned for the third quarter. After overcoming a few penalties, Ware connected with Hinton on a 14 yard touchdown pass. Time for Clemens (Denver). You know, that equal time thing. Berlin held the Scotts to another field goal. Shatony Sargent blocked a pass in the backfield, Clemens threw the ball to the wrong team, Hinton caught more first down catches, and the final score was 48-14.

Next week, the Rhen Fire 'vs' the Amsterdam Admirals.
