Stinchcomb has a 3.94 gpa with seven consecutive 4.0 quarters. He has been called a "natural left tackle". In 1995 as a freshman he played all 11 games at split gaurd and tight gaurd. Stinchcomb played in the '95 Peach Bowl. In 1996 he started all 11 games at right tackle. Matt Stinchcomb made the SEC good works team for outstanding community service. He made the All American district team, and the SEC Academic Honor Roll. 1997 Stinch received numerous academic awards while playing on the offensive line as well as part time defensive end. In the final four games he started at DE and helped rack up 69 tackles for the year. Again, he was All SEC player and helped Mike Bobo and the offense reach 425 yds per game with a 155.8 rating.
